The Best AP Music Theory Textbooks for 2018
We recommend buying Barron’s AP Music Theory book to use for review.
It has two full length practice tests with both aural and non-aural sections, and all of the questions are answered and explained in the back of the book.
It also includes a CD that provides aural skill development and contains material that complements exercises and examples in the book.
There are detailed chapters covering everything you need to know for the exam, and they give you tips and strategies for passing the test.
If you can play an instrument or sing, then the AP Music Theory exam should be fairly easy for you to self study.
All you need to do is buy Barron’s book, read through it, and take the practice tests, and you should be able to get a 4 or a 5.
