Best Textbook: Physics 10e, Volume 1, 10th Edition
Unlike the review & prep books, this textbook teaches you all the fundamental concepts that are required to pass the AP physics 2 exam. Since memorizing answers won’t help you in physics, it’s imperative that you have a strong fundamental understanding.
If you are serious about getting a 5 on both the Physics 1 and Physics 2 exam, then this is a required textbook.
Best Review Book: AP Physics 2 Essentials
The best book to use for reviewing for the AP Physics 2 exam is hands down the AP Physics 2 Essentials by Dan Fullerton.
It is the only book that covers all of the topics in the new and updated exam, and it also has 450 problems with detailed solutions and answers.
The book is integrated with the respective online website which has AP Physics forums, videos, animations, and supplemental problems to help you get a 5 on the exam.
Best Prep Book: AP Physics 2 Practice Questions
We also recommend getting the AP Sterling Physics 2 book to make sure that you’re 100% ready for the multiple choice section of the exam.
This book contains more than 700 practice questions and 4 diagnostic tests which should be more than enough to fully prepare for the test.
The step by step explanations are also incredibly helpful, and the detailed solutions will make it easy to figure out where you went wrong.
The AP Physics 2 exam is harder to self-study for than the AP Physics 1 exam, but it is still doable if you’re willing to put in time and effort.
Take your time and make sure you understand the material, as some of the questions on the test can be very conceptual.
You can also watch the physics videos on Khan Academy if you don’t understand a certain concept.
